Mabel Schamp Jacoby

The first woman appointed to the faculty in the Chemistry Department, Prof. Jacoby taught, with the rank of Instructor, in 1947-1948 and 1950.

Prof. Jacoby received her BA at the age of 19 in 1931 from the University of Chicago and her Ph.D., also from the University of Chicago, five years later in 1936. Prof. Jacoby died at the age of 38, Nov. 5, 1950.
