The Bulletins of The City College of New York reflect the changes that
occurred with respect to the admission of women to the College.
In the 1950-1951 Bulletin women are admitted to all divisions of the
College with the exception of the College of Liberals Arts and Science.
In the 1951-1952 Bulletin women are admitted for the first time to
the College of Liberal Arts and Science, but in restricted numbers.
The restriction
was that women would be admitted in the same number as the number
of men admitted to Hunter College in the Bronx. This restriction was,
however,
never actually applied and women were admitted to the College of
Liberal Arts and Science solely on basis of academic performance. |
