For more than a century after its inception, the face of City College, in the College of Liberal Arts and Science, looked largely like this picture. Few if any women are found in the College’s yearbooks, except as department secretaries and in administrative clerical positions. Yearbook photographs of the clubs, the sports teams, the academic departments, the politics, page after page were of men only.
